Welcome! My name is Yifei Wu. I am an Assistant Professor of Innovation, Entrepreneurship and Strategy at Tsinghua University School of Economics and Management.

I study how entrepreneurship and innovation evolve in response to technological and institutional change. One stream of my research examines how artificial intelligence transforms entrepreneurial opportunities, strategies, and innovation processes, with a particular interest in how open-weight models reshape these dynamics by changing access to technology, entrepreneurial control, and the diffusion of innovation. A second stream focuses on entrepreneurial finance and governance, exploring how entrepreneurs and investors design financing arrangements, navigate uncertainty, and manage incentives to create and capture value.

I received my Ph.D. from the Strategy Unit at Harvard Business School, and my Bachelors degrees in Mathematics and Economics from Cornell University. Before academia, I worked in economic consulting, and I continue to engage closely with entrepreneurs, technology companies, investors, and other practitioners through my research.
